LET’S SHINE BRIGHT: THE LUMINOUS ZEPPELIN
Love the sky and all things that fly?
Then get comfy and… welcome aboard! We’re about to take off on an unforgettable DIY journey — with a beautiful view from above.
Now, you might be thinking: “Wait a second, WoodTrick — didn’t you just launch a helicopter last month? Another one already?” Not quite — but you’re on the right track. This one’s a skybird too. But a very special skybird — for this model, our engineers drew inspiration from the era of early ocean-crossing flights and the timeless glamour of old Hollywood.
Any guesses?
Of course — it’s an airship.
Welcome to the WoodTrick family, Luminous Zeppelin!
When Airships Ruled the Skies
In this article, we’ll introduce you to our newest release and take you on a little trip back in time. So, welcome to the 1920s — a time when flying wasn’t ordinary; it was pure wonder. No commercial jets. No crossing oceans in a helicopter. Back then, airships were the undisputed kings of long-distance air travel.
Of course, flying wasn’t for everyone — only the very wealthy could afford such a privilege. And as demand grew, so did the luxury. Airships quickly became the ultimate symbol of status: elegant cabins, fine dining, spacious lounges, even observation decks. A voyage on an airship was less like transportation and more like a flying cruise — pure first-class adventure.
Sadly, the golden age of airships didn’t last long. Airplanes soon took over — faster, safer, and far better at moving large numbers of people. Flying became something we take for granted today. But airships carved out a place in history as perhaps the most unusual — and certainly the most glamorous — way to travel the skies.
Oh, and by the way… the first trip around the world by air?
Yep — it was done on an airship 😎
Luminous Zeppelin: Let’s Talk Features
Let’s start with the highlight — it isn’t just a beautiful model; it’s also a fully functional DIY lantern that brings warm, ambient light wherever you place it. Inside the balloon, you’ll find a built-in LED strip, while the lower cabin houses a battery compartment and an on/off lever. And here’s something cool: this model works as both a tabletop lamp and a wall-mounted lantern (wall-mount hardware is included in the kit).
This 3d model is all about the spirit of flight, vintage vibes, and aesthetic detail in every single piece. Speaking of pieces — there are 487 of them, and you can expect a build time of around 5 to 7 hours. In terms of difficulty, it’s MASTERS Level — the sweet spot where experienced builders will have a great time, and DIY newcomers won’t feel overwhelmed.
A Charming Retro Touch
Looking to elevate your space with something truly eye-catching? A stylish lamp shaped like a classic airship — and built with your own hands? It doesn’t get much better than that. With its vintage-inspired silhouette, natural wood tones, and soft LED glow, it brings warm, nostalgic charm to any interior. Whether it’s resting on a shelf or glowing gently on your wall, the Luminous Zeppelin adds personality, elegance, and just the right amount of retro flair. A perfect pick for design lovers, cozy-home creators, and anyone who appreciates functional art.
